  1. Not necessary but if you could if you wanted to and not too much work. Just try not to stress your fishes or corals too much. Provide ample aeration/water circulation if you take them out and make sure the holding tank doesn't overheat.
  2. I'm using a Canon A620. If its a digital camera, you can adjust the white balance so everything doesn't turn out blue/green. If not, a red filter can be added to the lens for film point and shoot cameras for deeper dives.
  3. My mistake, It does look very much like a TeddyBear crab but upon closer inspection, it's not. It's just a very long haired crab! Teddybear crabs are a lot more fluffy/puffy-looking, almost plush-toy looking! Still... your specimen is very interesting!
  4. Flub!! You're back??!!! Why so quiet? How come we got so many undercover old-timers?? The noisy people chased you all off izzit? Don't worry, Super Mods all coming back to revitalise SRC! I can finally retire already!
  5. That is a rare crab!!! Divers would kill to spot this underwater! Keep it!
  6. I'm AWOL for so long, the MPs have stopped looking for me already!
  7. Let the oldies return out of the woodwork and the good old times will follow! Plus our concerted effort now to keep the boatrockers out of SRC, things should turn for the better!
  8. I have loads of chaeto to unload. pm me if interested.
  9. Hi, nice to meet you. Fortunately I don't smoke... but I'm freeloading a lot as a 2nd hand smoker these days!
  10. lol! I barely have time to feed my fishes... but my precious black tang is doing well, loads of greens in the tank... can someone say chaeto jungle?
  11. Hey guys, been very busy, its 12.51am and I'm still in the office. What do you think? I'm trying to keep myself distant from the politics and stuff in this industry but inevitably I get sucked in again. Thought politics here was bad until my job industry really opened my eyes! Still... I'd rather sometimes be a hermit! But life is quite sweet. Used to be very stressed but lately it's all gone.
  12. Hi there, everyone! I know I've been out of touch for a long time, I've been very busy at work and all. Just wanna just say hi to friends and to those I have not ever met before... how's things? AT
  13. We have a whole treasure trove of information here in SRC, being the largest and 1st dedicated marine forum in Singapore! Use the search function and you'll be find everything you need, guaranteed!
  14. Don't worry... experimentation is part of the hobby and why should you be flamed for it?? We encourage good debates and the sharing of knowledge. We don't encourage negativity. Please do carry on your ideas... and let us know how it goes! Cheers! AT
  15. Not recommended for keeping with SPS corals, although that is their natural habitat!
  16. starphire glass is just the brand name of the low-iron glass. It is not sapphire... if not your tank would be in the millions of dollars! Starphire is certainly not scratch proof... in fact, it is probably even less scratch-resistant than normal glass! You will certainly get good clarity... and it will not be 'glaring' in any way.
  17. I've said it many times.... let your fingers do the walking ie USE the SEARCH function! The amount of fantastic information from the original pros are STILL ALL HERE!! IMO, the hobby has not changed much the last 1.5 years and what has been talked about before, shared or debated hotly by the old reefers, is right here in SRC. The reason why people are not sharing much also is because it has become like repeating the same advice over and over again. And people are too lazy to search and they want to be spoonfed. It's their loss if they don't want to do research on their own. That's how the old school learned... and locally, in our context, we have put all the content here in SRC... let your fingers do the walking!
