It's possible your CA test kit could be old and giving a faulty reading. On the other hand, if you don't have a lot of hard corals, the CA could be depleted very slowly, but it shouldn't be rising unless it came about through some imbalance eg. high levels of Alk, mg being induced suddenly etc? Test your Ca and Alk together the next time. Mg depletes a lot faster than the above two, IMO... esp with hard corals. Like I said, water change is the cheapest fastest way to balance out your parameters.

Try putting in some nori or better still, some natural seaweed like Ulva into the Q tank. It may get him interested to peck on it.

If you're in doubt, this is my advice.... The cheapest & fastest way to balance your water parameters and give a 'breath of fresh air' to your tank is to do a 50% water change soon! Don't use too much chemicals to try adjust your water parameters... it's just simply not cost effective.... and people tend to overcompensate and possibly cause a precipitation crash... bad news with hard corals. Do you use a calcium reactor?

Some bad advice given. NEVER pour seasalt directly into saltwater! There will instant chemical reactions which cause precipitation of calcium and affect the alkalinity! ALWAYS mix seasalt with freshwater and THEN pour the mix into your tank. Do a search in SRC... a little research will yield all the answers you need in reef keeping here!

To the impersonators, You seem to come across as a disgruntled commercial entity, finding it a necessity to stoop to such lowly acts to hit out at others. Impersonation, especially when used in such a manner as to misrepresent someone else's identity to create trouble, negative image and misunderstanding is a serious matter. I suggest to the party offended to report this as a police case to seek criminal and legal prosecution. I will extend my fullest co-operation as I am also in the midst of a legal/criminal case against some individuals/entities and if I am going to be investigating IPs why not cross-reference all the troublemakers at the same time?

Can you do a test? Fill a clear thin glass full of tank water and place it on white paper, have very white light around (sunlight is best)... put a strip of white plastic halfway into the water and see if it appears yellow underwater. It could be your lighting as daylight tubes are made to duplicate 6500k... so its definitely yellow.
