  3. Get one of those transparent feeding sticks.... stick a thin wriggling slice of prawn meat and wriggle it infront of the lionfish.... sure whack one! After that you can stick to dropping pieces in once it equates you with food and starts to investigate.
  4. Its with a friend of mine currently still sealed. I need to go get it from him asap!
  5. They have big nets in which they chase fish into and then slowly use smaller nets to catch them. Unscrupulous collectors use cynanide to stun the fish but doing so kills the reef and also hurts the fish which could die later due to internal poisoning. Dynamite fishing is more for collecting food fishes but kills everything else in the blast radius. It is only used by moronic fishermen.
  6. ...whatever babe... just pass me the money first before I....
  7. Wishing all SRC members and guest a very happy and prosperous Chinese New Year! Gong Xi Fa Cai! AT on behalf of the Moderators
  8. Plague proportions are by no means controllable by biological means. Unless you throw in 10,000 black velvet nudibranchs!!
  9. Just play around a bit more. If you want wet skimming and see more stuff go into the cup, you can tune to get less fine bubbles, raise the water level etc. The DOC levels in your tank will change all the time, so you can't expect constant gunk all the time, even oils in your hands can cause the bubbling to collapse. My 2 cents.
  10. Suggest you post in the local Chrysler forum (if any) or go to the general car forums in singapore and post your queries there. You'll have better luck!
  11. Ok, will post it soon. Need to go retrieve it first!
  12. I hung up my fishing rods long long ago! I prefer to admire sea life UNDER the water now!
  13. Hey I have a brand new driver for sale. Won it at a golf event dinner. Anyone interested?
  14. Are you preferred to grow rotifers or prepare rotifer substitutes for the fry? It takes a lot of hardwork to raise the young of our marine pets. From my experience, you have to separate them out from the main tank, yet maintain perfect water quality while feeding them constantly with carefully prepared food.... and hope for for at least 5% survival! Do some research here in SRC.... there are information from local reefers on their attempts to raise marine fry.
  15. Welcome to the club. Hope it won't discourage you as it did me... multiply that 1000x!
  16. Frankly quite a few of us SRC members have been trying to build up our SG profile in the past... quite well too, with a few TOTMs from SG! But all that has been overshadowed by the Ugly Singaporeans, who will shamelessly hide before their keyboards and washing dirty linen overseas/creating ugly rumours/smearing competitors/SRC without a thought that they create a bad impression on the whole country by their loutish behaviour. Funny I don't see this kind of behaviour happening anywhere else but in SG. Some of us really have to learn a lot about civil manners.
  17. Here's a link to the DIY mod here... http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/printthr...362&perpage=161
  18. Waveboxes are a great addition to reef tanks... really adds a natural feel!
  19. You're right. It's irritating but spammers usually only target high-traffic sites. We have been very busy deleting such posts and yes, we certainly do have busy lives and careers.
  20. Check out some awesome pix here! http://freshpics.blogspot.com/2007/01/rare...d-in-japan.html
  21. Welcome to SRC, arg! And thanks for posting your very interesting project here! We can't wait to hear more from you! Nice setup! I like the 'SPS' for your FOWLR tank! I'm getting some ideas already haha! How much did u spend on the 'SPS'! AT
  22. Sometimes this behaviour happens. It's a captive system. Fishes will get bored or curious or perhaps hungry and do things that are out of the ordinary. I don't see black sea cucumbers spending time on rocks in the sea but they will climb glass walls in a reef tank!
