  1. Tuna Girl - pls right click to 'save as' and download!
  2. OMG!!!!! My chinese is very koyak... can someone translate for me?? But the photos speak a thousand words though... but still i want the details!
  3. His name is Reno and he's a friend of mine! Actually, he was the one who got me into this hobby! Pac marine is one of his retailers for AZNO3 and PO4-minus. At $60 a bottle, it is definitely not a long term solution.... that should be accomplished by your DSB or plenum or ample liverock. But for a quick almost INSTANT solution, AZNO3 is the best! I have a bottle on standby actually.... heh!
  4. How is that possible? The mouth of a seahorse is tubelike and so small... only live mysis or brine shrimp can fit in!
  5. There is a product called AZNO3 that works very well in reducing high nitrates to almost zero in a couple of days. You can get it from fishnfriends.com, the distributor of AZNO3 and P0-4 minus. It's an enzyme formula causes your protein skimmer to go crazy and it will export out your nitrates via it. I have used it before in the past and will recommend it.
  6. It's just not happy with the water yet. It will slough off the outer layer from time to time... it's normal.
  7. It seems to be dinoflagettes. They are photosynthetic so they do thrive under light. There may be no detectable NO2 or NO3 but you could have a high DOM or phosphate level. Did you test for those? It is pointless to just change water... you have to use a toothbrush to scrape them off and syphon as much as possible. If not, make sure they are suspended in the water column and use filter wool to strain the water. Once the water is clearer, throw away the filter wool to avoid them reproducing or reintroducing them back into the system. Those fur like stuff that is not moving is a strain of hair algae. If it moves quickly like little fleas, then its pods, which is good.
  8. I think it might be a bit too long for your tank. The reflector is exactly 5 ft long. The lights that are 4' 4" put end to end.
  9. If it's 'armoured' and looks like a ancient fossil called trilobyte, then its a Chiton. They are harmless and are commonly found as hitchhikers in liverock.
  10. I don't see anything else except a nudibranch inside!
  11. It's not the length... it's how you use it!
  12. Hey guys, sorry to intrude here... but my DIY PL light hood is for sale! Check it out in the Pasar Malam section!
  13. It has a tray that leads into a tower compartment of 2 layers... goes into 3 partitioned compartments. I don't have the exact measurements but from the pix above... my stand is 5'3" long. Am asking for only $100.
  14. As of today, my DIY PL lighthood is back on offer seperately from the tank (which is sold already). The person that gave me his word that he wanted to buy it on his last payday but he saw my last post that it was reserved (for him), thought it was for someone else and said he 'bought another unit'. When I called him, he said I never replied his email about releasing it... oh well... FINE!!! He misunderstood, not me. Anyway... whoever wants it... it's still for sale at $150! Lelong Lelong! Details and photos found in this thread: http://www.sgreefclub.com/forums/index.php...a4e1107d866ea99
  15. My sump is huge... I think its about 3 ft in length or slightly longer... maybe 4ft. I think I can sell it.
  16. I have a two big pails of bioballs! Who wants them! And a sump tank! Actually Phang, I think I may want to take your 3 x 2 ft FL pendants.... my plankton factory may need to expand!
  17. Don't give up so easily. This is very nutritious for fish.... Why don't you clip it with your lettuce.... let they recognize that its food also... soon they will be eating it!
  18. Get Piper from Charmed to freeze them for you! Heh!
  19. What kind of monster sixline wrasse is that?? 1 inch shrimp can fit into the mouth of a six-line? Their mouths are so small!
  20. Decapsulated BB eggs are much more nutritious than newly hatch BBS. The energy used in hatching by BBS is still unused in decap BB eggs.
  21. Morgan, I killed another aiptasia pest in my macroalgae in my refugium last week. I used the kalkwasser paste injection method... it's fast and effective. They die within minutes, shrivel and drop off easily for siphoning.
  22. Apparently leopard wrasses eat Red Planaria too!
