TTboy, Kalk paste is just simply kalkwasser powder mixed with a little water... so it's pasty. Just suck it up with a syringe.. and inject right into the open mouth of any pest anemone, majano or aiptasia. Just don't overdo it and make sure the kalk paste doesn't get into any other coral.

A solenoid is useful to shut off CO2 flow to your reactor... and into your tank, should there be a power failure. Without which... unless your calcium reactor allows bleedoff of CO2 or a shut-off mechanism... your tank's PH could drop a lot or your livestock would be dying from CO2 poisoning.

The report from US reefers who tried mangroves have mostly come back as negative. 1. They take too long to grow and most importantly, 2. They don't create enought impact in nutrient uptake. A lot of them have switched back to using macroalgae.

Only get the black ones which are reef-safe. I haven't seen tigertail cukes in Singapore yet. The rest are risky. A hint in nature observation: the more colourful the species, the more there is a good reason why it is so: To warn off potential predators... ie. I AM POISONOUS!!! The black cukes are sand-sifters so they are good. The rest will climb glass walls and rocks and feed off drifting detritus etc. Don't get too many cukes as your sand bed may not support all the food they require. And don't worry... they won't harm your pods either. AT

Pix 1 looks like a Blastomusa. Pix 2 is a rock anemone... a pest... kill it before it spreads.

Be careful of those pendant which sit above your tank on 4 legs... it's a major accident waiting to happen. Also very prone to water splashes. I think TTboy has those Taiwanese made ones and still regrets it to this day. You can ask him.
