  1. Better post a pix first... or this misunderstanding will never clear, excuse the pun.
  2. I saw the exact same one in Sipadan...except maybe a hundred times this size! Just be careful to watch your water quality... lobsters produce a lot of urea... in a small tank, that's bad news.
  3. Regular water changes are effective or a skimmer upgrade. Good efficient skimmers will export out proteins and other dissolved organic matter. I always recommend people to get the best skimmers they can afford, not skimp and get cheap ones. They (the good ones) always work better.
  4. Are you referring to the pinpoint monitor? Maybe you can drop our sponsor, Seaquest, a line... he can get at quite good prices I think, compared to some LFS that are selling quite ex... eg. s*****e.
  5. High from dettol, High from adrenaline... no wonder you don't feel pain during the game! Do you have to take a bath after the game? Not just for the sweat but the paintball stains? Errr... does this mean you have to wear your old clothes there? We'll look like beggars at war!
  6. Those seaweed are for snacking and for human consumption only! Get those that was featured by me in this thread... cheap and good... and if you can afford it... yeah... the Ocean Nutrition range has different seaweed species too... Even my bartlett anthias and firefish will eat nori!
  7. Ahh... in that case... I'll bring along my anti-fog solution then... I use that for my scuba mask... kekeke! Padded vest only? How about ear protection... ? Being hit on the ear is no joke! Maybe we should do this next month... don't want to go diving end of this month with purple round bruises on my body and getting lots of strange looks from people.. hehe!
  8. Hmmm.... where to get padded clothes? I am so skinny.. sure bones shatter one! Kekekeke!!
  9. Yes.. as an oldtimer... you know better than that! Pls add your name to the END of the list!
  10. Okie.. Let's do it!!! Somebody be the Gamemaster and get things organized!! Time to vent our pent-up emotions! Hahaha!!
  11. 1. Theoratically, fine sand will trickle thru bigger particles and settle at the bottom. That takes some time. 2. If your tank is established, upsetting your water quality by removing your old sand can be disastrous. Esp. with large grain sandbeds which will undoubtedly trap a lot more detritus than fine sandbeds. If you really want to do this operation, buy the biggest toyogo tub you can get, transfer all the water and LR out... put your livestock in, put the skimmer in there (for oxygenation and clearing of dissolved wastes) for at least a week while you do up your sandbed. Remove all the old sandbed, give your tank a good wash... add in the new sandbed. This will mean that your tank's sandbed will have to start all over again as a biological filter. You now have to count on your LR and frequent water changes to maintain good water quality as the sandbed will need a lot of time to mature and cope. Best if you give away some fishes to reduce bioload. I did this change to a new sandbed when I migrated my old tank to my current tank. It's a lot of work!
  12. Hmmm... really live 'counterstrike'... GO GO GO!!! Fire in the hole!!! Sounds fun... how much are the charges?
  13. You are asking in the wrong forum.
  14. To the newcomers, you have to pay into my account first as I don't want to lugi if I order and you disappear! Not saying you will, but I kenna play out before... don't want to repeat the experience. AT
  15. Remember, its a filter feeder... feed it phytoplankton if you want to see it grow faster.
  16. Nothing is cheap in Japan. Even memories..
  17. Well, dude, its a good start! You may want to put your clams up a lot higher, they require a lot of light. There's too much loss of light intensity by the time it reaches the sandbed. You don't want them to lose their colours... or worse... die when their energy stores run out. I'm curious to know what's that cylindrical pipe thingy on the left corner? Another skimmer? AT
  18. You got a spare?! I'll call on you when I have an emergency. *takes a queue number*
  19. I'm just trying to say that responsible reefing is usually accomplished with providing the best housing requirements for corals and marine livestock. That means you have to be willing to spend quite a lot of money on this hobby. Cutting corners often means a compromise somewhere.... and that could lead to more problems in the end. And the ultimate price is not paid by you (unless you electrocute yourself or some damage or hurt is caused by some cheap defective equipment). If you are not ready for reefkeeping, don't start. Especially big tank projects. If you can't take my word for it, I don't know who else can convince you. I have spend a fortune on my tank and I still don't think it's good enough. I know there are some people who want to enter this hobby but not willing to spend money on it... putting their livestock in really pathetic & inadequate setups... and even willing to go to extreme lengths to steal marine livestock and equipment from LFS. (please don't get me wrong... I am not saying or implying anything about you with regards to this matter). I am not trying to sabotage your plans to ask for free stuff... if you can get free things from other hobbyists, good for you... There are many generous reefers here and if the timing is right... you may walk away with some goodies...
  20. Woah... good pump! It'll be good to have this pump and a Iwasaki face off against each other... Kidding!
  21. I am certainly not an expert reefer, just a very crazy one... I have holes drilled into my pipes... my reef racks will float if I didn't drill them!
  22. Hee... hee... my name is Bruised... Bruised Lee.
  23. There are four... you left out the Endu-ring!
