I'm not angry... just a little annoyed that there was no SMS to at least tell me to wait or not to wait loh. Just like how some gal 'let go aeroplane' on the last two occasions. the last one somemore made me wait 1/2 hour!

I am using back Rowa... although the media is totally black... the residue is rust-coloured brown. I used to freak out over the dark rust-coloured water, now with my sump/skimmer routine, at least I know most of it is exported out of my sump into the collection cup (except the larger particles on my sump bottom).

50% should be ok provided your tank water parameters are not too skewed eg. very low or very high PH, temp or salinity. If you keep these within the normal recommended reef tank parameters, the new salt water should not cause any shock.

You see the word 'inlet'... that's where the water is suppose to go in. Don't trust siphon, use a pressurized pump to bring water into the unit. I wrap my pump with floss, because from my experience, detritus will collect in your kalkreactor.. which is not good.

I am dosing kalk via a Tubby auto water topup linked to a kalkreactor. It doses kalk at night when the lights are off to replenish water evaporation during the day to help increase calcium/alk while keeping my PH stable during the dark hours. I use an Iona industrial fan (smallest model 75w) to blow across my tank water surface. Evaporation rate is about 1 - 2 litres a day. You might want to consider a kalkreactor as well.

Been using it for a long time. Upgraded from C1502 to C10002. I feed water in using a pump, both models.

Actually, I have my eyes set on this new technology mask.... anyone heard of the Hydrooptix mask? It's really far out in concept but the view is 350 percent more than flat masks and an edge resolution 100 times sharper !!!! Check this out! If you're not excited... hmmm.... Hydro Optix masks here!
