Hi guys, A good dive trip TTboy and I had at Hin Daeng and Hin Muang - we saw our first Manta Rays and Powder Blue Tangs! We'll be sharing some photos... I took quite a fair bit of macro shots... here's a preview for today.

The number of water changes in the saltwater hobby compared to freshwater fish-keeping for sensitive fishes like discuses is already less frequent, but logically, in an enclosed system, it makes sense for water changes... only lazy bones will skip water changes. In a saltwater or even a FW aquarium, the water is always in a state of flux... always changing... usually towards a negative state where things are being used up eg. trace elements and bad things being added in eg. phosphates, pollutants etc. Unless you have an excellent system where everything is replenished and all pollutants are removed to the absolute degree similar to good quality natural salt water, then trust me... water changes are the easiest way to ensure that things are in the safe zone. Even if you have the most super duper system and equipment, you will see definite changes to your tank in terms of positive signs every time you do a water change. Don't listen to bad advice from LFS.

Still going to keep my 3 ATA HDs. Maybe will upgrade to a nice SATA one later on. Graphics card will remain a bottleneck for now.. its a Geforce 3 Asus V7700 Pro, card still can handle high res graphics well.

Hi guys, guess what? I came back and I tried turning on my PC and it won't even boot. I think either my mobo's fried or my CPU, my RAM or my graphics card. I can't test because I don't have any extra's lying around!!! DAMN!!! I have been using my wife's laptop to surf. Well, it looks like I have to spend money again... man... this month I will be soooo broke!!! Was thinking of getting a CPU: Intel Pentium 4 3.0GHz (800MHz) Mainboard: MSI 865PE Neo2-FIS2R Memory: 2x 512MB Kingmax SuperRAM DDR433 or maybe Twinmos. My system should fly... Any comments? Will probably go to my fav store - cybermind or does anyone have a better lobang?

Morgan and I are thinking of organising an SRC Dive Trip next year... unconfirmed which month. Best to get an AOW certification at least before coming! Most likely, it will be a LOB.
