  1. Well, glad you'll over it. If I hit a dog or cat while driving, I'll probably feel damn lousy too. Cockroaches.... nah.... KILL KILL KILL!!!!!
  2. Do you use Granulated Activated Carbon on a regular basis? They will polish up the water because they absorb dissolved organics and stuff that causes your water to turn yellow.
  3. Taking a large brain coral that requires a wheelbarrow to carry out of there??!! That man must be mad!!!!
  4. Show a pix! Algae is an enemy of corals because they will fight for space and light. They will take the opportunity to grow on the dead areas of corals and are very hard to remove.
  5. Cauliflowers are high maintenance corals. Requiring dedication in feeding them the right kind of food on a regular basis, daily. Because of this, it is usually the case where either the tank overloads and causes algae blooms or the cauliflower coral begins to starve and shrink. It's your choice.... but even when I was dosing live cultured phtyo... it just took a much longer time before it eventually shrank... and I had to fight a minor nuisance algae bloom. That's why they say its not a coral recommended even for advanced reefers as you should create a species-only tank for them.
  6. Come on guys.... let's see the rest of the names!!! Don't you want your T-shirts?! If they are kept with me any longer, I'll use them to wipe spills in my fishroom!
  7. Well... dispar got it quite right. Don't put them in too much current because they will cause their stinging tentacles to extend even further at night and you may be surprised to find a coral half way down your tank, well not really, maybe about 20cm away, getting stung by your galaxy coral.
  8. One more chiobu is a Thai friend of my friend's Thai galfriend. This one speaks fluent english, scuba dives, has a private pilot licence and currently taking a PHD in marine biology, is a house and techno DJ... really interesting woman! I spent more time chatting with her than with my wife on our boat trips as we have a lot in common...
  9. Final shot! She speaks excellent Thai, has a MBA and is a real pleasant person to chat with.... quite a joker! She has twin dimples too!
  10. Priscilla's her name and sweetness's her game! I am sure Bwilly will be all excited now... kekeke!!
  11. Chio bu? We had a divemaster with us that was quite chio.
  12. Come on man, you DIDN'T see it!!! It was an accident.... take it easy. I love animals too... many of us do. I don't know how to console you... I'm lost too. Coz I was thinking if anyone ran over my dog... I would have beaten him to a pulp. Yet, if it was an accident....
  13. Ouch. Rest in peace. It was an accident. You didn't mean it to happen. It's ok. I probably killed a few hundred dustmites when I sat down on my chair cushion.
  14. Most of the better marine LFS should carry them. Try Bio-ocean, our sponsor.
  15. Hmmm... welcome to the Wet Side!!!! Well... it's actually the wrong season for you to take up diving as the nice spots for open water diving for most people is in M'sia like Tioman/Aur/Dayang. Orpheus Dive (www.orpheusdive.com) is one shop that I would recommend, some of the SRC people here have trained under Lester with happy results. He is conducting courses right down in the down season. Why don't you give him a buzz?
  16. My 1600w MH is on for 10 hours daily and that's cutting down from 12 hours already! I should have a tank of dead corals already! Always take LFS advise with a bucket of salt. Anyway to answer your 1st question... yes, 20.5C is very cold, too cold for tropical fishes, they'll get stressed. 25c is a good temperature to maintain. Either that or you can keep cold water fishes from Australia or the Atlantic!
  17. LOL!!!! Now that you mentioned it... it does look.... odd. Let me rephrase... I prefer the scene at Manly Beach... and the closeness of the makan and shopping area next to it!
  18. Actually... its not that exactly the same! I use the TUBBY to detect water drops... and it activates a pump that brings water to my kalkreactor and it goes into my sump.
  19. You should write out a list of DO's and DON'Ts for your BIL. Buy those pill containers/ice trays and put each day's food inside each compartment and SPECIFY that ONE DAY is ONE COMPARMENT'S WORTH of food... not more, not less!! He should understand that.
  20. Water's very cold at Bondi as far as I can remember! But it's a nice beach. I prefer Manly Beach. Had my outdoor wedding photos shot there!
  21. Don't worry... the kalk you dose for water top shouldn't push PH to dangerous levels. I am dosing kalk only at night. I too have PH drops to 7.9... with my nite kalk dosing... it hovers around 8.1 now.
