  1. April 17, 2048 at the age of 76 years old. On that date you will most likely die from: Heart Attack (27%) Drowning (16%) Alcoholism (14%) Cancer (11%) Alien Abduction (8%) Homicide (5%)
  2. I personally like night dives as it is a whole new world at night. A little scary but once I dive in with my IKS Light Cannon HID torch, I become fearless... hahaha!! Seriously, with my white HID torch, the night dive experience is transformed. It's almost like looking into a MH lit aquarium. No more blue/green tint to the water and everything can look like its real colour underwater. In fact, some of the corals positively GLOW under this light beam. I love how you can look at sleeping fishes like parrotfishes, in their caves or out in the open, wrapped in their mucus cocoons. I love to see the coral polyps come out in full glory. I love seeing different species that come out only at night. I find it peaceful even.
  3. Prepare to spend at least $15 grand for a 6ft, more if you wanna set up an SPS coral tank.
  4. I seem to find divers either liking them or hating them.... gimme reasons why!
  5. Another one of our diveguides, Don, onboard the motherboard.
  6. Diving at one location. With limestone cliffs and underwater caves.
  7. Okie okie.. off topic off topic!!!!!! No more talk about chiobus!!
  8. Take a look at my Trang diving pix... the first one is a nudi. Characteristically, they have two horns and a bush-like tail. Does yours look like this?
  9. Is it hardshelled? It sure looks hard shelled to me. It could be some kind of snail. If it's entirely soft, then you have to take a side profile shot.. so we can confirm if the features are indeed that of a nudibranch or flatworm.
  10. Yours looks like the bad kind. They are known to kill sleeping fishes. My fireworm is a scavenger. They come out only at night. It has not bothered any of my clams at all or killed any of my small fishes. It makes an interesting photo subject. But I won't pick up this worm with my bare hands.... I'll be in pain for some time! It's not called a fireworm for nothing. Anybody wants it?
  11. I shot this photo just last night! My resident fireworm. Here it is next to my black sea cuke.
  12. Nice... let me introduce you to mine... also about the same length. Here it is nice to my 11cm Deresa clam.
  13. I like to see you hand carry back a 1 hp chiller!!! LOL!
  14. I think its the red-legged ones that are more destructive than the red ones. Anyway, I don't trust any hermits.
  15. It came with my AB Aqualine sunlight pendant bought a long time ago from Aquatechnic (since sold off and I upgraded to 4 x 400watts). Unused as I bought new bulbs of a diff colour temp then. Not sure of bulb brand as the markings are not clear. Probably Osram brand (wild guess). So... it's still available for sale. $40 each. Only 2 available. No bargaining please - dirt cheap already. AT
  16. *puke* That was indeed a day of infamy in SRC history... the grossest pix of an SRC bro coming out of the closet.
  17. You are mistaken. My old tank has been running for about 2 years and I shifted everything into my current tank, including the entire old water and LR. The only thing that was new was the sandbed. It's matured now, gone past the 1 year mark. No more nuisance algae blooms etc. Gone past the various stages or cyanobacteria, hair algae... There is no short cut... certainly not ONE WEEK!
  18. Manado!! Wow! That's a good dive spot! I think you will see Danano there... he's going there during X'mas week!! BTW, did you realise that this thread is a YEAR OLD???!!! You resurrected a very very old thread!!
  19. The viz wasn't that great at some spots. The best viz was about 30 m. Most spots hovered around 18m. It could be the cloudy weather affecting the amount of light in the water. The magic of digital photography is colour correction. Remove the blue tint and you will get the true colours of most things. It's the green tint that kills everything.
