  1. Here's the search results on kreisel tanks
  2. Yes, you can feed them BBS. But I fear that your jellyfish won't survive long term in your conventional fish tank. Do a search in SRC on jellyfish... we have covered the specific needs of jellyfish before. Keywords 'jellyfish', 'kreisel tank'. We advise reefers not to keep jellyfish unless you can build yourself a kreisel tank.
  3. Huh? Cig? What cig? There were two lighters placed on top of a hot oven. One exploded.
  4. Your question has too many variables eg. tank size, ambient room temperature, wind, MH light wattage etc, everyone will have different results. But simply... yes, you will have much less evaporation compared to before.
  5. Moving out to the Reeflkeeping Forum.
  6. Garden eels!! I find them fascinating creatures but they are definitely not for beginners. Hope they will survive long term... they are zooplanktivores and should be in a species only tank as they are extremely shy creatures. Try cyclopeze and see if they will pop out to feed. And they will nullify the effects & benefits of a DSB because of their deep burrowing activity. In fact, it is recommeded that you provide a 12 inch DSB for them.
  7. Could they have grounded the outer layer that well?
  8. Wahaahahaa.... last I checked... still there... still there!
  9. It was just a loud bang.... in the kitchen. My tank's not in that area... Maybe the coco worm got popped out of its home... but everyone looks fine.
  10. Flub... she's fine... she got an ear-ache after that though.
  11. My guess was the gas expanded when it got too hot and caused the plastic body to explode when the pressure got too great. Damn goodness it didn't cause a fire... but I guess it's considered a freak accident. Maybe I can show Harry as botak, hair burnt off and then use the insurance money to get him a mate!
  12. If I wasn't so stumped by your pix... I would have scolded you for posting up such a HUGE photo!! In future, pls keep your photo to 700 pixel width! Anyway, that is one very very unusual shell! I have not found a positive ID for it even in my Coral Reef Field Guide book. Wish you lots of luck!
  13. It's one of those cheap 50 cents lighter, colourful transparent plastic body... the only metal bits were the top part with the round flint wheel. Wooming... hello... what's so farnie about my dog hiding? It was loud enough for me to scare me, when I was in my study and she was in the kitchen with the door closed. Oh well... dinner was excellent!
  14. That's what I told her. I don't smoke and she does. It was her cigarette lighter.
  15. Yes, LR can be reused. It will just take some time for the microlife and coralline algae to recolonise the rock again... over time... it will become 'live' again.
  16. Just got a shock... the loudest bang ever heard in my home just happened. I think if my dog had a fur coat, it would have all fallen out instantly. A cigarette lighter left on top of our oven which my wife is cooking escargot in... EXPLODED!!!! It shattered into bits all over my kitchen... and another cigarette lighter placed on top of it... was also sent flying. Needless to say, my wife who was cooking at the stove, froze in shock and I had to spend some time comforting her and chiding her at the same time! Harry hid under the kitchen table and trembled... LOL!!! Any, looking forward to a great dinner... rosti & escargot... wonder what else will be served... but I was shooed out of the kitchen shortly after... heheh.. just sharing! AT
  17. Do read up more about the use of ozone. It is not a magic cure-all... it IS dangerous not only to your marine livestock but to you and even your surrounding area.
  18. They should pass through.... they are microscopic enough.
