You can try rearranging your LR so all your fishes have a new chance to get used to a new environment and then stake out their own areas. Or remove the damsel. (still don't know why people are still buying these devils! )

Wow! A square skimmer! First time I'm seeing one! I can't be sure... but I think there's a real reason why square skimmers may not work as well as round ones. Something to do with turbulence, bubble movement, tensile strength of the body or costs of materials/extra work. Alvy, our resident DIY guru may be able to shed some light! But hey... good effort! It might work well! Looking forward to a product review! AT

I hear the high cal and alk readings from fluidised CRs is due to false readings as a result of the fines in the water due to the increased erosion of the media as the movement of the media cause more abrasion. There is a method to test for the true & accurate cal and alk readings from such reactors but I don't have the info at hand. It slightly more complicated from the standard test kit procedure.
