I highly doubt if they can understand the word 'dog' and 'boy/girl'. They probably comprehend phonetics and associate certain words with actions or commands. A dog can be trained to think that 'Bad Boy' is an affirmation of good behaviour by the word being associated with an affectionate pat on the head. Likewise, you can scold a dog "Good dog!" and he'll associate that word with a reprimand. It's logical because a dog brought up in a Hokkein speaking home won't understand the English version of 'pai si kow!'

Hmmm... doesn't look like the dreaded green hair algae. That one feels and looks like baby hair... it's extremely fine. This one looks thicker than GHA but thinner than Chaetomorpha. What's the growth rate like? Do you see it turn asexual?

I just spent half an hour tracking down different fireworm species. I think the closest ID that I can come closest with for my fireworm is Hermodice carunculata, from the Carribean. It is supposedly a very rare find and it so happens to be a known predatory fireworm where it consumes soft corals and gorgonians by LICKING them... as they have no jaws. I'll be seeking a 2nd opinion from a polychaete expert to confirm if my fireworm is of that particular kind. If it is.... anyone wants to adopt ######, the fireworm?

Ryz, you can't use DT's for culturing. In the past you could, when they had just Nannochlropsis algae. Now they mix up 3 different types inclusive of freshwater Chlorella, making it very hard to culture a pure strain from DT's. You're better off buying seperate cell cultures. Suggest you read the pinned up threads if you want info on how to culture your own phyto. I used to do it in the past... have used Instant Algae before, tried DT's and now trying out liquidlife Bioplankton.
