  1. They are not reef-safe. We have talked about them before. Good luck trying to catch them out. They'll be a menace till the day they die or fished out.
  2. He's the giant ball that the lion plays with! J/K.
  3. Hi Siput. Why don't you get into research mode first. There's really quite ALOT to learn about the marine ecosystem and what's needed to keep it in good condition for the long term health of your livestock. Don't start until you learn ALL you can. The less mistakes you make at the beginning, the better! Start off with reading the pinned up threads in the New to the Hobby Forum. Best of luck, AT
  4. Email me your avatar... I'll upload it for you after making the necessary resizing and lowering of dpi resolution to reduce filesize.
  5. Boss? You talking to me? Err.... no... sorry... as a newbie, I used a similar cheap industrial MH set as my first MH... regretted it immediately as the output is very poor compared to those proper aquarium pendants even though its the same wattage. (Its still sitting in my cupboard... james72, if you want it, I'll let you have both for $50. ) I then bit the bullet and bought an Aquamedic Aquasunlight 150w x2 DE pendant and it was fabulous for my LPS tank then. Of course now, I have my own DIY 400w x 4 spiderlight SE light rail system for my SPS.
  6. Is that an industrial metal halide fixture... yikes.. it does look very big and heavy! How do you propose hiding it? What kind of ballasts does it have and what kind of bulbs can it run? I hope you're getting rid of 2nd hand units (and I'm not gonna ask you how you got hold that many sets)... so it better be a good deal for hobbyists here as I am allowing this 'bordering on commercial' thread to carry on in the mean time.
  7. Wait till you guys actually see the fish! Come on.... anymore ideas? I'll reveal the answer tomorrow!
  8. Nothing much actually. Damaged is already done to the coral tissue. The tissue will rot off the skeleton. Watch out for nuisance algae may that grow on the dying/dead parts of the skeleton, causing further irritation to the rest of the coral. Wait, how in the WORLD did you coral get sucked into your skimmer??
  9. Vincent, ich is a parasite. Either its in your tank or its not.
  10. DUNG????!!!! I think if you put dung in your tank, you'll not only be having cyano but a major crash! Not to mention the SMELL!!! Oh GOD!
  11. Heh heh heh... everyone's curious now! Here's a side angle to show that its not the same fish that Xfusion is showing! Is it a cross between a human and a fish? All will be revealed in good time!
  12. I forgot your mane, but your pace is familiar. Neigh, Tuan, I thought you were just horsing around! Glad u like it... it does stirrup some interest huh?
  13. Xfusion's attachment does look similar.... but its definitely not that evil-looking!
  14. Oh, yeah.... so you did. But I serious can't imagine a four legged animal looking like that!
  15. Very adorable chincillas!! We used to have one. Died of twisted intestines.
  16. What if I said I tricked you and its actually the Grinch (who stole Christmas) instead? LOL!! Nah... it does look like the Grinch but he's greener! So no one knows what this is? Come on! Guess!!
  17. Damn, I should have gotten that M1 Abrams tank that was going cheap. I like to run meet some road-hoggers and deal out a lot of HURT to them.
  18. RAV, don't think so... I captured this image off my coral reef DVD...
  19. Ahh... perhaps its closer to Thailand... excellent weather up there! I MISS PERHENTIAN... I only hate the coach journey up and down!
  20. If I can come up with a nice marketable name, I want 10% of all sales from this DIY project! LOL!!!
  21. I like how you think. But with increased heat.... means increased metabolic activity, increased ammonia toxicity, increased wastes, increased chances of bleaching if there should be a one or two degree spike. At the heat range you're proposing, its still possible to keep a reef tank but you should know they prefer a cooler environment for long term health. I highly doubt if this will greatly affect the effectiveness of the anaerobic zone of DSBs and dense LR.
  22. So Alvy... why is it called AF? And Hon... hahaha... what changed your mind?
