  1. Hope to see more & more SRC reefers being featured. There are many beautiful reef tanks around... softies, LPS & SPS tanks. It would be good for us to get more exposure... to promote the hobby!
  2. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I wrote The Straits Times marine fish & reef keeping articles too!
  3. That's SUPER GROSS!! It looks you have SPIDERS!!!!!!
  4. This is a public forum. Of course, the AVA is here! The LFSes are here too! There is nothing to hide and information is free. The hobby trade needs to be regulated and its AVA's job to do so. The hobbyists are the end users and the sellers should abide by CITIES laws and AVA regulations to do biz anyway. What I don't like is that the someone in the industry is always pinning its woes on SRC when raids happen. Before SRC came up, there were raids also and I wonder who was the scapegoat? As far as I am concerned, the authorities need education on marine stuff as much as the LFS and the hobbyists do. The passionate hobbyists probably know alot more and are more updated then AVA & the LFSes are for obvious reasons... it will be good for the public to learn all they can about the marine environment, so we the hobbyists should do what we can. I see benefits all around even if there will be dropouts from the hobby due to rising costs. At the end of the day, there will be no casual reefers but serious ones and more livestock will be saved from irresponsible and unknowledgeable hobbyists. My 2 cents. AT
  5. Nope. By definition, they are not. Your inverts are in danger, esp. tubeworms. Unless you don't mind a lack of inverts.
  6. ANAMBAS!!!!!!! Indonesia of course!!! Wah lau... malaysia can go anytime... indo... its not always!
  7. Ahem... Dispar Anthias is a Tang Police candidate... I think what he is trying to say is that Tangs/Surgeonfish would require a larger tank with lots of swimming space to grow happily. Most people tend to stock large Tangs without realizing their needs. Stress and aggression will cause most Tangs to perish quickly and a small tank is often a cause of it. Your tank seems ok... with that much swimming space. But it also needs hiding spaces with lots of LR for tangs to hide from other more aggressive tangs for longer term viability.
  8. It says that?? Well, you know how dramatic the chinese language can get...
  9. Hmmm... your clam looks beautiful... but you should remove the tube anemone... as it may sting not only your clam but other livestock. My 2 cents. AT
  10. At least you can sit in your trunks and imagine you're on the beach. We had to pack winter gear just to survive the journey to a beach destination. What an irony. We were like frozen sardines.
  11. Now I know why Fish love magazine did ask me to be a regular contributor to the magazine.... !!! I don't know who their advisers are.... but one of the advertisers so-called discovered a way to keep tanks in a sustainable fashion/keep water clear... and you know what? It's just explains the basic nitrogen cycle... and the system is.... just the bioballs in sump system!!! I almost fell off my chair when I saw the poster at the exhibition and they have a booth there!! The funny thing is that its in joint-development with a polytechnic and a famous tank maker is so-called using this technique too!! Anyway... I see this publicity as a positive thing. They may have followed poor advice from the magazine in the past but I hope they will be inspired further with this article and with the information that I have provided, promoting SRC, that the newbies there will be making their way here and learning more... a lot more... I don't know how large the chinese-speaking marine community is... but I am sure there is a way to reach them. If it requires me to write the marine column for Fishlove Magazine, I'll do it... or I could develop my own simple magazine with chinese translation.
  12. God no... not that kind of backdrop!! What's wrong with you? You setting up a florist shop or a promoting a spring season festival??
  13. YYeah.... the photographer... wasn't supposed to take photos of the kitchen... grrr.... IN FACT... I wasn't even ready for them to take photos of my tank that day!!!! I didn't even had time to prepare my tank for photography!! Eg. knock the snails off the back wall, scrape off more coralline, clean the glass... In fact, I wasn't even supposed to be in the photo!!
  14. Please go ahead... I'll like to see your translation skills.
  15. I told you I am potato-eater. I GP A1 - you? Z1000?
  16. What talking you??? I'm talking about icicles hanging off my nose.
  17. それをあなた自身しないか。私は百ドルのために助けることができる。
  18. A TRIGGER IN A SEAHORSE TANK???!!!!! That's a BIG BIG MISTAKE just waiting to happen. I suggest you remove it asap. AT
