  1. Hi Fellow Reefers, My name GQ and here to share about my tank Spec Tank: Red Sea reefer 350 wavemaker: Nero 5 and Rossmont M7200 Return: Rossmont Doser: Kamoer X4 plus and F4pro Lights : 3x AI hydra 26, using signature series spectrum skimmer: Red sea skimmer 300 chemical filter: activated carbon and GFO in mesh bag Running refugium plus algae scrubber both powered by Ai Fuge. ATO: Using red sea inbuilt gravity fed Top off tank Chiller: Hailea HS 90 Dosing: Red sea ABCD plus Redsea calcium and Alk. Fish list Yellow tang, dory, 2 bicolor anthias, 3 chromis, 1 foxface, 2 nemo, 1 scooter blenny, 1 lawnmower, 1 leopard wrasse and 2 cleaner shrimp 2 hermit, and quite a few conch, nassarius, cerith, and 1 larger serpent star for sandbed control and some turbo snails. Water params Alk 6.9-7.2 calcium: 400-450 Mag:1450-1500 (consumption very low, never dosed since day 1) nitrate :1-5ppm (show up as yellow on api kit) phosphate: 0.05 to 0.15ppm (hanna ULR) I started reefing in 2017 started off with a Nano, Cade PR400 with hang on back skimmer refuge, started well and corals growing fine but hand itchy want to follow the no water change craze so start dosing and using biopellets to control nutrient , this resulted in tank crash and corals melting like ice cream. Then decide to upgrade to red sea reefer since see their tank look so chio.. converted my cade PR400 to quarantine tank. Fast forward to red sea tank, started late 2018 till today. 2. This is a new thread to continue from my original thread as per the following URL, since the previous thread is now in the archived status. https://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/topic/176955-nano-reef-marine-tanks-journey-starting-from-15-sept-2020/ I am pleased to share the following video on my planning for the next stage of the tank - Stocking the Tank, while I am waiting for the tank to complete the cycling process which is looking at 4 -6 weeks time.

  6. Hi, Ordered three 1lb bottles of the BRS General Bonding Super Glue to do up my Marcorock aquascape and I eventually only used slightly over a bottle hence I'm selling the unopened one (about 450g) for $45. As far as I understand, this is not available in Singapore. Worked well on the DD Rocks too but I only made 3 joints with that and it's all small pieces so can't really confirm if it can work with other rocks. Works well in creating a strong bond between the rocks by using the Marcorock powder as it's very thin, almost like water, and soaks into the powder. It's exactly the same as the Gluemasters Thin glue that Tidal Gardens made a video on as I also ordered one bottle of that which cost slightly more than the BRS glue. Some links for reference below: https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/brs-general-bonding-super-glue-bulk-reef-supply.html Thank you.

  7. Hey Reefers! Felt really great to be back! Got myself a Red Sea reefer 170 and started cycling the tank today. This will likely still be a SPS dominated tank with some LPS/Zoas at the mids/bottom area.. Most of my equipments have yet to arrived so i will be cycling the tank while i gather my equipments, should be around 2 months before the first coral/fish goes in. Equipments: Red Sea Reefer 170 (60x50x50cm) Noopsyche K7 Pro II (will likely get another unit) Bubble Magus Z7 Jebao SLW-20M (Will probably need 2 as well) Jebao Doser 3.4 Tank is in! Despite being only a 2ft, it is pretty heavy espcially the cabinet. Got to say Red Sea makes quality tank set. Got a total of 15kg of dry rocks to play with. After lots of expoxy, glue and hours later.. trying to create a floating kind of scape with tier layers to incorperate SPS/LPS/Zoas demands. Grade 3 coral sand goes in as well, turns out to be a little to coarse and yellow for my liking, might swap them out in future. I like the scape above alot but in the long term, shadowing wil llikely cause an issue and the 'floating' side is tilted backwards which means less space for corals. So i decided to turn the whole scape 180 degree (glad i expoxy everything together!) and it looks pretty good too! Would be great to hear some opinion guys! I will work on the 2nd scape tomorrow to epoxy those rock shelves back that i removed in order to turn the scape and will post an update of what i can come up with! Meanwhile, i guess i have to patiently wait for the tank to cycle. Thanks for viewing!

  9. For new reefer, don't rush in to setup everything at the beginning after watching youtube. E.g reactor, dosing pump, refugium etc. Alot of things may not even be required during reefing journey. Start simple with the basic equipments and add along the way when needed. E.g. If your tank is small or low bioload, regular water change can already top up elements, nutrient export. This can save the money for dosing pump, reactor etc. Setup up more equipments also mean more room for failure and you will need to standby redundancy. Especially when u go holiday. Understand your problem then find the suitable solution to it. Lastly, DIY will help u save alot too just need to read up more. Just my 2 cents.

  12. After doing much of online readings, I kind of decided on the stocking plan for the 12G Nano Reef Tank when the tank completes the cycling process. I must mention that all photos shown in the video (with the exception of the 12G Nano Tank) are owned by various owners that I found online. I am just referring to the photos in the video for me to share my stocking plan for the 12G Nano Reef Tank after the completion of the cycling process. The stocking process will be a slow process (which will takes weeks and months) from what I have learned and I really hope that I can achieve a nice Display Tank. I have included 3 of my Dream Tanks (beautiful display Nano Tanks) that I found online as a motivation for the next stage (stocking) of my 12G Nano Reef Tank
