Hi Fellow Reefers, My name GQ and here to share about my tank Spec Tank: Red Sea reefer 350 wavemaker: Nero 5 and Rossmont M7200 Return: Rossmont Doser: Kamoer X4 plus and F4pro Lights : 3x AI hydra 26, using signature series spectrum skimmer: Red sea skimmer 300 chemical filter: activated carbon and GFO in mesh bag Running refugium plus algae scrubber both powered by Ai Fuge. ATO: Using red sea inbuilt gravity fed Top off tank Chiller: Hailea HS 90 Dosing: Red sea ABCD plus Redsea calcium and Alk. Fish list Yellow tang, dory, 2 bicolor anthias, 3 chromis, 1 foxface, 2 nemo, 1 scooter blenny, 1 lawnmower, 1 leopard wrasse and 2 cleaner shrimp 2 hermit, and quite a few conch, nassarius, cerith, and 1 larger serpent star for sandbed control and some turbo snails. Water params Alk 6.9-7.2 calcium: 400-450 Mag:1450-1500 (consumption very low, never dosed since day 1) nitrate :1-5ppm (show up as yellow on api kit) phosphate: 0.05 to 0.15ppm (hanna ULR) I started reefing in 2017 started off with a Nano, Cade PR400 with hang on back skimmer refuge, started well and corals growing fine but hand itchy want to follow the no water change craze so start dosing and using biopellets to control nutrient , this resulted in tank crash and corals melting like ice cream. Then decide to upgrade to red sea reefer since see their tank look so chio.. converted my cade PR400 to quarantine tank. Fast forward to red sea tank, started late 2018 till today. My QT is my Nano tank 12 gallons, its my first tank and it failed miserably so i convert to QT hehe. its comes with rock sand skimmer chiller and ATO. i keep it running 24/7 like my main tank as i sometimes will buy fish and coral so there is immediately a ready QT for them. hope it helps. Hello! Just wondering if anyone here has tried the RedSea ReefEnergyPlus, and have a good/bad experience with it. Does the ReefEnergyPlus really help with growth and coloration? I'm currently running a 25g budget tank with no skimmer, and have zoanthids, palythoa, mushrooms and xenia, and might plan to add hardier LPS in the future. Or if anyone has recommendations on how to enhance coral growth/health apart from water changes do let me know!1 point

Has anyone seen dwarf gobies besides clown gobies before. I have always found them beautiful and they have practically zero bioload bcs of their size. I am planning to keep a school of them in my 20 gallons. I know it may be abit small but as i have found, they have very little bioload i cant seem to put a pic of a trimma goby here so...1 point

I would like to share on why I am spending time to go through the testing process of all the equipment with fresh water as part of my planning process of the Nano Tank setup: Allow me to fully understand what to expect in terms of the final temperature control / management especially for such a small nano tan. Allow me to fully understand on the total # of power points required, locations / positioning of the power points extensions as well as grouping of power points for the various equipment. As you might want to switch-off / continue to switch-on for some equipment during maintenance (such as water change) and feeding etc. Allow me to fully understand on where and how to place each of the equipment in order to maximise on the limited space available . Allow me to ensure that all equipment in proper working condition. The activities and time taken to perform the testing process is considered part and parcel of the planning and definitely well spent to ensure a smoother setup process to follow.1 point

Agreed. The submerged filter wool will be less effective to trap the fine debrises and water flow down from the dis[lay tank may caused further dislodge of the trapped debrises. Would suggest the filter wood to lay on a egg crate with supporting stand and firmly place above the water level in the sump.1 point

i believe its kinda hard to answer this qn, as all tanks are different with respect to bioload and nutrient export. u will always see different opinions as reefers with very low bioload can see effects while those existing with high bioload probably dont see any. For me, i tried a few, red sea reef energy A and B, the old version, Acropower, seachem reef plus. I would say only acropower has an effect on acros. Cos i did mini expt, so i stop dosing for a while, my SSC become washed out color, the moment i restart i see colors coming back. for red sea reef A plus B, i tried didnt see any effect, but i bought the new version will give it a try sometime soon. you can also consider brightwell coral amino, BRS say its good so maybe can try! Happy reefing! Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app1 point

Week 6 Update Week 5 & 6 was filled with diatom blooms! Saw this as a good sign instead of panicking. Nitrate levels were also decreasing steadily, from 40ppm in week 5 to 20ppm in week 6. I added 3 x Spiny Star Astraeas to chomp on the diatoms and Green Hair Algae growth. I also caved in to my mum's request to buy an anemone, and bought a Sunburst(?) anemone. Not gonna lie, I've been eyeing it since week 4. After watching the fishes the past few weeks, I decided to also change out the powerhead for a weaker one as it looked a little to turbulent. My Ricordeas are opening up much more since the change. If you notice something I'm doing wrong or could do better, please let me know! Happy to hear some feedback. Stay tuned for more weekly updates!1 point
