  2. Decided to get into reefing after a lot of research during the Circuit breaker period. I've been keeping planted tanks for about a year now and I decided to take a plunge into the salty side of things! Took the time to cycle my tank for over a month too since no livestock could be added then! Here is my tank after 2 months! I guess this tank build could be considered a rather cost effective tank build as I'm currently still studying and I decided to try to find the best equipment that I could get that fell within my budget (which took a lot of researching and reading up HAHA). Really thankful for the more senior reefers here on this forum as well as really helpful LFSes who have helped me in this journey and even donated corals to me!

  8. Thank you!! Hmmm currently the equipment i have on this tank include a Spectra Aquaknight V2, the return pump that came together with the tank and a dymax IQ skimmer, a fan and a jebao wavemaker! It's only a small 30L tank i got from Pinnacle Aquatics during the circuit breaker period I started out with dry rocks and livesand from Caribsea to prevent unwanted hitchhikers along the way! Initially I wanted to just keep softies and maybe a few LPS frags later on but a kind reefers donated SPS frags to me! So far they have been alright in my tank so hopefully I'll be able to keep them happy! I have much to learn from reefers here

  10. Yes. They don't like change. So if you are thinking of getting a coral be prepared. For example if you buy a coral from a fellow reefer whom has spent month after month getting their corals used to 27degrees, and you buy it and in an hour or two (of floating and drip acclimation) you expect it to flourish in a tank set consistently at 25 degrees, it won't be happy. Corals can adapt to differing temperatures and different water parameters but it takes time. Consistency and minimal change is what you want to aim for. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

  11. It's been a challenge lately, forced to break of chunks from the mother colony to make room for other corals. Here's a beautifully shaped forest fire (top pic), approximately 5-6cm with a few dozen branches. Small colony shape and size. Just 20 for that. Separately, I have a few smaller random forest fire pieces to give away FOC, limited to one per reefer. Only requirement, send me a FTS (full tank shot) Bottom pic is a blue tip thin branched acropora. Around 5cm with multiple branches. That's 30. Pls PM me if keen. Thanks.

  12. Got myself a 30x15x15cm acrylic fish acclimation box that can function as a fishtrap as well from rms recently to replace my very rudimentary one I got from Nanyang Trading/Seaview Aquarium that used to be at Jalan Kayu(now at Chencharu Link). Admittedly I wasn’t been the biggest fan of acclimation boxes in the main display but plans to add more tangs to my system in the near future convinced me I need something like this.
