  1. Est. August 2019 The guiding principles behind my tank design and build were simplicity and ease of maintenance. Another aim was also to establish and maintain an ultra low nutrient environment for SPS to thrive. Managing the bio-load and promoting the growth of beneficial bacteria were key to achieving this. Some basic information: TANK: 50g main + 30g lagoon + 20g sump LIGHTING: AI Hydra 52HD (x2) + Orphek OR60 light bar; lagoon tank Kessil A360X FILTRATION & CIRCULATION: Skimz skimmer, return pumps (X2) and wavemakers, Prodibio Biodigest & Bioptim, FM Bacto Reef Balls, coral chips and live rock OTHER EQUIPMENT: Coralbox auto-doser and battery backup, RODI, Haliea HS-66A chiller SALT & SUPPLEMENTS: Red Sea Salt and Foundation (CA+/KH/Mg), Tropic Marin Pro-Reef, and Fauna Marin Color Elements

  2. I've always love small tanks. I like the ease of setting 1 up, easy to stock and how affordable it can be. I had this 10L pico for slightly more than a year. I love this tank but was never satisfied with the flow. Couldn't add a wm during to space and also cannot find 1 that is low powered enough for this tank. Maintainance was also difficult due to space constraints. I would always knock over scape and corals when I need to stick my hands in the tank. It would also overflow when I did that. Slowly, I have the thought of changing to a slightly bigger tank. I could also reuse slinky equipments. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

  3. This gonna be very interesting journey , I never thought that I would ever document my reefing journey. But would definitely give a big thank you to SRC forum admins and all the sponsors for coming up with this initiative to encourage all of us to more actively participate and share part of out life in these mini threads. First of all let me give a brief introduction about my reefing journey. - I started reefing roughly around October 2018. ( yet to reach the 2 year milestone ) - Equipment : Innovative Marine Lagoon 25 ( its a 25g small tank perfect for a beginner ) IM Nano Ghost Skimmer ( not the best in the market , but not the worse too ) Eheim Canister Filter ( All mechanical filtration removed ) China brand wavemaker which I eventually changed to a Nero ( one of the most expensive equipment I bought to this date, But no regrets because Nero is a work horse) Eheim Return pump ( Which I had with me during freshwater tank ) HS-28a Chiller ( Its really decent and so far been treating me well , not that noisy or maybe I'm use to it ) My very first light was a white LED light i used on my Arowana tank (Initially I wasn't sure if i wanna spend a lot of money on light with wide spectrum and it took sometime for me to read and understand before i got myself a second hand AI Prime HD ) Last but not Least , Im using a very old table as my cabinet for the tank ( Which is in use to this date and those who know me been bugging me to change it to a proper cabinet (For safety) , but hey sometimes I can be a bit stubborn. . ) Well we all have gone through that phase where the tank is empty and you see all the reefers posting their nice tanks and you wonder " How in the world " gonna fill my tank. Give it sometime and you will be telling yourself " I NEED A BIGGER TANK " If anyone have any questions regarding the equipment, feel free to comment and I will try my best to explain to the best of my knowledge. my tank look as of 16th Oct 2018 :

  4. Thanks Zander. One more thing I do, I dose aminos and feed marine/reef snow daily. The latter, after lights out. The fish get pellets twice a day.

  5. Very nice tank. Facing the window. [emoji1303] Do the evaporation increase a lot more since it’s near to the window? What livestock you have in your 2.5ft? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  6. This was started back in October 2019 and lots of up and down since. In January was a sad case, made a mistake of adding 2 small fishes without QT. All my other fishes were Quarantined. Velvet entered my tank and wiped out all the fishes except my leopard wrasse. This was my tank before the velvet attack.

  7. I did not do a complete restart after keeping a FOWLR coppered (Cupramine) tank for the past 6 years. What I did was used plenty of Cuprisorb and Polyfilters for around 5 months before I got some soft corals to try out. It has been about 5 months since then (Nov 2019), GSP, Zoas, Xenia and Clove corals are growing. Elegance, Bubble, Frogspawn, Torch and Blasto LPS are doing well. Added 1 clam 1 month ago and it's also doing well, so i guess it is possible.
