  3. 3 x 1.5 x 1.5 is my favourite size for a tank. I have had a 6 foot tank, a 5 foot tank and a 4 foot tank - all of them difficult to manage. Your tank will be perfect for water changes. It would only take me three standard buckets of water per change. The rocks are easy to reach too. Life got even easier when I switched to a single piece of ceramic rock.

  6. Good tips given by fellow reefers above. Just to share : I have a desktop tank in the study room. About 10 gallons (40L) IOS tank. - 600L/hr Eheim 600 return pump - MP10 wavemaker - Mainly Zoas & GSP which is colorful & easy to keep. Very encouraging for new reefers. - LED lights - No chiller but i'd recommend one for better chance of a successful tank - and this enables more coral options that require cooler water. - A few small fishes like Starry Blenny (to eat algae), Clown fishes..... - No skimmer. With the bio load & available space for 'desktop' setup, weekly water change is sufficient. Set up looks something like this This picture is taken with a yellow lens filter in front of the camera, so colors may appear more intense.

  8. Hi guys, I am new to this hobby. I tried this hobby a long time ago and I always hit a wall. After all my poor lovely marine lives died . I decided to give it up, coz I don't think I should continue to take lives that way. But since I found this website and see your pictures my passion is burning again . so I really want to do it right this time ... please advice on what I need and HOW TO PUT THEM TOGETHER. so far I know these : 1. Bigger aquarium means good! 2. DSB (very important) 3. SUMP 4. SKIMMER 5. FILTRATION 6. LIGHTING 7. MAKING OVERFLOW 8. DO and DON'T But I don't know how to put them together , like where the water should flow out and where should it flow in. Should the water firstly go to the SKIMMER or FILTER... sorry guys, I m really newbie . Previous tank consist of: (STILL GREEN!!!) 1. Aquarium 2. Filtrations : 2 EHEIM (I forgot about the specs, cos it is quite long ago) 3. 1 wave-maker device and that's all... (no wonder my lovely things all died, I am going to go back to that fish store whom ONLY teach me that far !!!) ROAR!!! so guys please advice, a simple sketch for making the pipe flow would be a great help! Many-many THANKS!!!
