  1. Hi everyone, wanna share my first ever sw tank. Coming from freshwater planted tank, I'm using existing fw tank without sump. It has been running for about 4 months now. Using Aquaforest system because I like its complete range and I'm a sucker for beautiful packaging. Planning to upgrade to a bigger proper tank with sump next year. For now using this as a simple learning tank. Tank: 60x30x36 tank Light: AI Prime HD Wavemaker: Jebao RW-4 Protein Skimmer: Tunze 9001 Filter: Eheim 2211 with lily pipes for AF Phosphate Minus & AF Carbon also to drive chiller Chiller: AL-60, temp 26.5c - 27.5c (without chiller temp 31c) The tank has no fish at the moment cause the first batch of fish died due to my stupid mistake of not turning skimmer & wavemaker back on after a late night cleaning. All fish died the next day due to lack of oxygen. The current batch of fish is undergoing QT and will be ready for the DT in 2 wk time.

  5. It's always responsibility of the buyer to quarantine new fishes. There are zero marine fish shops here that hold fish for a full month of quarantine (yes that is how long real quarantine takes) before selling, fish will end up being too expensive for the market here to accept. There also can be the best copper systems, uv systems put in place but if the fish already arrive with diseases from the supplier there is nothing much the importer can do. If you want to be safe, pay for the fish fully and have the shop hold the fish for a week. If there are any signs of whitespot/velvet it will show up by then and it's a measure that could end up saving your entire collection.

  6. CF will qt fishes before releasing for sales. The tanks in the front roll are not treated with copper for obvious reason. Even after treatment, no one can guarantee anything as fish death can have so many reasons. Not to dilute the topic and will apologise if I did.
