  1. Hello I am in this hobby for more than 3 years, but I am new to the forum. I have 8 X 2 X 2.5 feet 1100L outdoor tank built by Iwarna. I have revamped my tank on 8 July 2016 and just finished initial cycling. I started to put some fishes and SPSs so I thought it is a good time to start logging my activities and progress of my tank. Hope this will be informative for those interested in Triton method. so, here we go.

  4. Dear all, I would like to share my brief Initial experience with RPM salt. To start with, here are the specs: Parameters Salinity 35 ppt (1.025 sg) Calcium 440 ppm Magnesium 1425 ppm Alkalinity 8.5 dKH Strontium 9 ppm Potassium 400 ppm This salt contains All Essential Major, Minor & Trace Elements with enhanced Calcium, Magnesium and Potassium Levels. It dissolved pretty quickly and water turn clear less than 5 mins (in a pail). My tank parameters are approx the same as the salt specs and I'm seeing consistent reading after each wc. I'm currently keeping a 322 mix reef tank. I've been using the salt for 1 month, and all live stocks seems to be happy. Retail list price is about $90 (I think) in a 25kg tub. Pretty reasonable. Will provide more updates moving forward. Btw, this is my tank. Sent from my iPhone using Singapore Reef Club mobile app

  6. First fish in the tank!! With suggestion from guys at Iwarna, I have added 8 Ventrails Anthias (2 males and 6 females) in my tank. According to them, these deep sea fishes are very shy, and it is very difficult to introduce to the tank if other fishes are already in the system. Since my tank is still new and empty, they suggested to try on these exotic fishes. When I saw them at their farm in Pasir Ris, they were eating fine in small keptivity. So, when I introduced them to my tank, they suggested me to give Arctic Cyclops first. Once they start eating, then slowly mix Mysis Shrimp. After 2 weeks, 7 of 8 (2 males and 5 females) survived and they are all eating well now

  7. I wanted to increase anaerobic bacteria population within the reactor. I ran it for some time without the siporax and managed to get a certain drip rate / ORP level. After adding siporax, i noticed able to get much higher drip rates & yet maintain 0ppm nitrate in the effluent.

  8. It really depends on your budget, usually dead rock are sold same price as life rock, but so far I only see it at Iwarna. But artificial rock you can get in Madpetz and Iwarna, and they are really expensive. I think rocks sold here are usually from people who decomm their tank, or those who want to change rock. 10. By the way if you use Purigen, buy those already packed (not bottle) for your first purchase. See the effect first. If you do buy those in bottle, it's important you get extremely Low mesh count filter bag, most don't work and you will see Purigen beads floating in your tank.... Or you try to buy The Bag from Seachem which is Super expensive but very effective to hold those tiny beads. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
