Some time back, i used those felt filter socks which was a pain to wash. Now i'm using the nylon type from 100 or 200 micron ones from Bubble Magnus. Its about ~ $5 from LFS. So much easier to clean. - Easy to flip around to rinse under the tap. Can be done once every few days since its so easy to rinse it. For weekly thorough wash, - Soak in bleach for a couple of hours in a small tub (see pic below) - Then rinse & soak in anti chlorine for a few minutes. Rinse again. Hang to dry.
