  1. Hi, i hope u read about this hobby before u decide to step in. First of all, marine tank is not as simple as fresh water. Lots of patience, time and effort is needed. 2ndly, although is good to get 2nd hand items, but raise your budget so that u can get some decent items. my advise is go for 2 feet with sump tank. get a proper skimmer, chiller is a must if u plan on keeping corals, no point using fan. u will top up water till u go crazy. for stand, dont get those metal ones. u will face alot of headache once rust set in. if u are not in a rush, camp in the 2nd hand market. there are times when reefers upgrade and sell off their current set up at good price. last but not least, if u planning to go on low budget tank, my advise is dont even start. this is not a cheap hobby. above is just my 2 cents worth. feel free to pm me if u have any questions about starting up this hobby. took me few years before i really went into this hobby.

  2. Erm.. Bro did u dose bacterial into your tank to speed up the cycling ? If not dosing them will help speed it up to bring your ammonia and nitrite down. This may be critical cos the poor fish is already inside your tank and it's almost impossible to catch it with just net alone. Fishes are smart enough to hide away from it. For the sake of the life in your tank, I'm willing to pass u some of my microbe lift special blend but bring your own container. Hopefully it helps in speeding up your tank cycling to reduce the duration the fish have to suffer and hopefully it will survive. Pm me if u are interested.

  4. my ammonia, and nitrite were at 0 during the second or third week, so i'm pretty sure it was cycled already, i'm sure that my water quality is good cause i do weekly water changes and my nitrates are at 2.5 ppm. and the 2 sexies are the only live stocks that died, i think 'kept dying' is a bit too strong a statement, haha. its more likely predation than water quality, cause i have a pistol shrimp in the tank and 2 hitchhiker crabs that have grown quite large but i think the pistol shrimp is more likely, but well, i'll never know for sure now.
