  1. For all NSW users or bros planning to use NSW, would like to bring out that since the oil spill (that has been cleared up) a couple of weeks ago, a few bros have reported fishes dying with unknown reasons after doing WC with NSW. There is no proof that there is oil residue in NSW that are causing harm to the fishes, however I do not believe in coincidences as well. Perhaps more bros can chime in here on their experiences, if any. In the meantime, in spite of the lack of evidence against the hypothesis, I suggest to bros here to use salt mix with RO/DI water.

  2. Decided to start a thread to showcase how you can feed your corals using a very low cost method... Step 1: Put the food into a small container..

  3. the pricing at Irwana is very reasonable. you can shop at ease there. Just 2 words of caution, do not ask the India worker there for pricing. He quotes much higher than the auntie there. so ask Auntie how much the corals are........ secondly you will see 2 foot cube tank there. auntie says that tank belongs to Steven. I have heard stories from multiple reefers that he resells corals bought from LFS for a hefty profit in this tank. so just take note. happy shopping!

  4. Bacteria cannot colonize on the artificial rocks as they are hollow, not porus. hollow meaning water will fill up the artificial rocks. This water in the rocks gets really stale after a couple of months as they do not get circulated. But as long as you place these fake rocks in the tank and do not move them, the water in these fake rocks will not leak into main tank and everything should be fine. FOr a start, you can move some LR into the sump. then put artificial rock inside. after a while, remove the other pile and place the other artificial rock. if want to be kiasu, you can leave the LR inside the MT too and take out 2 pieces every alternate days. just bear with the unsightfulness for a few weeks. If biohomme is suppose to do as claimed, you should be ok. ================================== might be going LFS on Friday... wanna join us and hunt for nice LR?
