Hi,

A few other methods which you can try:

1) Use AZ-NO3 but only for short-term NO3 reduction.

2) Do regular water changes (abt 20%) until you get to your desired NO3 level

3) Bioload could be the issue, caused by too much ls and excessive feeding. In such case, reduce the amount of feeding. Alternatively, you could go for a more powerful skimmer.

:D

hi guys.. how to bring nitrate level down to zero ?

1)Water circulation in the main tank must be pulsing or direction changing to prevent dead spots for detritus to build, collect and eventually form nitrate.

2)Good skimming - make sure you tune your skimmer well so it skim & foam daily.

3)Change your sponge/wool or socks every 2-3 days to prevent detritus & uneaten good from breaking down to nitrate.

4)Regular water change - I recommend seawater from LFS if you are not using any DI/RO unit so as to minimise phosphate, chlorine....etc from our tapwater. Remember to siphon your LR or sands during water changing opportunity.

5)Good return pump for optimum turnover rate - at least 15X-20X recommended.

6)Reduce feeding if you have done the above steps.

7)Reduce bioload if step 1 to step 6 fails.

Good luck !

Eric
