My previsous trip to Bangkok, I managed to buy this little LED light ( come with 8 x bright blue LED ).

Using as night light and seeing coral hanky panky ")

Good thing with these LED , no AC/DC adapter needed. Just plug into AC and forget the rest.

Just to share.

Here is the result.

Out side the pic, it's really bright.

It's so bright, so I can't point the light to water at all. You can see from first picture, I pointed paraller with water.

hey mins, i think a lot of pple want to know whether it is 470 nm light range..and the power consumption as well...any idea?? thanks...

the ones that Reef Depot brought in are 470 nm light range, it is the recommended light range for coral hanky panky...i heard of cheap china led lights that are not within that light range...can help in clarifying?? thanks...

dun really mind if it's not 470nm... cuz I just want to be able to view the tank activity discreetly only... but if it's 470nm all the better...

However, I would like to know how the mounting mechanism is like. How do I mount it on my tank?

Can you comfirm that the housing of the LED moonlight is that of the normal halogen? Have seen a lot of them in Sim Lim Tower where they sell modified 35W halogen casing with LEDs (about 8 or 10) inside and plugged directly into AC sockets. Comes in White, Blue, Red, Orange. Cost less than 10 dollars.

Wow weisoon u sure?! so cheap? Why haven't anyone been using that? Cheap and functional. Minsmarine maybe you should shed some light on this matter.. taking a picture of the Moonlight set would certainly clear all our doubts.

Yes it's something like that But not excetly.

It's housed in like holgen light. However pin is not the same. It's come with BLUE AND BROWN wires ( so mean 1 Nature and 1 Live ). So just directly plug into the socket and work. Was told it's consume only 1W. And I was told they have RED, GREEN color also.

So far , I didn't manage to spot this kind of light in SimLin Sq/Tower. Tried 3-4 time b4 without success.

If it's below 10$ than it'll be good, cause i doubt their lasty.

If any1 here managed to buy, plase shere here, so I could confirm.

Sorry, mime is already fix so can't take out. Me , lazy old man.

Yes, it's can't compare with ReefDept's import version of Moonlight. Actually, I order 2 set from ReefDept and later withdraw as need AC/AC adapter, cause I don't like running to many wires.

There are pros and cons, I am valued customer of ReefDept. I have nothing to attack to Nelson at all. ( Afraid, he won't give me discount next time Haa Haa ).

However, this LED is really really bright. I am wonder whether power consuming is only 1W. Bright that you can't stare at the light at all. If you notice in the 1st Pic, LED is paraller to the water, not to the water and I got the result as Pic 2.

Nelson,

I hope, my post didn't effect to your business. However, if it was, please accept my appology here.

No problem. If anyone interested I can help to order. But have to make full payment first as I do not want to get aeroplaned except myself.

As what I have order was the tracker and the LED bought from another place and I am going to DIY to integrate the 2 units together.

Tried to search on the net on the circuit of this tracker but quite difficult. I would prefer to DIY as the challenge is there but have to get a circuit with programming on PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) which proves beyond my knowledge scope.

Anyone in here with electronics background can shed some light??
