FR?

Can anyone explain to me what a FR is? Keep coming across this in SRC but still got no idea wht it is. Would appreciate it if some reefers could explain what it is and wht it is used for. Thanks!

FR is a short term of fluidised reactor...it is used for running filter media lyk rowa or carbon...water will rush down inside tt reactor and the filter media is suppose to eliminate those things tt u wish to get rid off...

Oh, hrmz, if i have carbon n rowa in my cannister....is that enough? Or would it be better to add a FR? Thanks for your reply anyway.!

FR improves the efficiency of the media. Putting it in bags in canister might not enable the water to pass through due to the clogging at the fine mesh bag.

Most reefers run individual FR for each media. Reason being both medias run out at different intervals. Easier to access to each media.

still in my big pile... slowing add in my tank water into it... will feed it full... when my MH lights off, i will put it into my tank
