Clarion Angelfish ( Holacanthus clarionensis ) - Juv
The Clarion angelfish is an aggressive species.
Clarion Angelfish can normally grow up to 30 cm what is approximately 11 inches. In general, 1 specimen requires at least 3600cm2 of water surface which is approximately 558 square inch. This species will require to be kept in a tank that is very large. (e) Medium aquariums have at least 113 Litres (30 US Gallons). Large aquariums have at least 265 Litres (70 US Gallons). Very large aquariums have at least 700 Litres (185 US Gallons) is required to keep it in good shape.
It is not very difficult to keep the Clarion Angelfish. (e) The specific gravity (SG) should be between 1,020 and 1,025, the temperature between 23°C (73.4°F) and 26°C (78.8°F). The recommended pH level is between 8.0 and 8.3 since marine fish are used to these levels in general.
It is a very expensive fish. You could get it for about above 3000 over dollars and the same price is in dollars . The price is high due to export of this fish was not allowed since it is a very important species for the sea ecosystem.
However, export was allowed some time ago, that is why you can buy this fish, even if you have to pay big money for it. If you want to see this fish, it is better to visit public aquariums.
Due to aggression toward other Angelfishes, it is better to keep them in large aquariums with plenty of hiding places. If you have an opportunity to have a large aquarium and that big amount of money, it is good to feed this fish Artemia Salina, Krill, Shrimps. In aquariums they will also eat clams and corals, so they are not the best fish for reef tanks.
